Deputy PI Esther Beltran talks at TEDxUF Salon

Dr. Esther Beltran of the University of Central Florida, and Deputy Principle Investigator for the REVEALS program talked about REVEALS at the second TEDxUF Salon event on October 18th, 2018. Titled TEDx-UFSalon: The Path Less Traveled, this was one of five informal round-table discussions by TEDxUF.

Hannah Lyons, TEDxUF Salon curator, wanted the public to learn about Dr. Beltran’s story. How Dr. Beltran has truly walked the ‘path less traveled’.  Sharing stories of her background, coming to the United States as a medical doctor, then studying space medicine, extreme environments, public health, and diving medicine before working with NASA projects and becoming a flight surgeon. Dr. Beltran’s path to FSI has been incredibly unique to her own ambition and work ethic, combined with her passion for helping the next generation of women leaders inspired TEDxUF attendees to follow their own dreams.

Dr. Beltran in the post event interview stated: What a pleasure being around these young and talented people. I am humbled by the opportunity to encourage them and make a positive difference in their lives! She referred to the quote: “Do not go where the path may lead you, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail” by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
