Freedom Middle School Freebots Team Wins First Place in FLL's Regional Tournament

The FREEBOTS TEAM started in 2012 at Freedom Middle School. The goal of this club is to expose students to the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) with an emphasis on 21st Century learning skills such as group work and problem solving. The FREEBOTS Team has been supported and encouraged by the REVEALS team members, primarily through Dr.Thomas Orlando.

Freebots won the First Place Champion's Award in FLL's (First Lego League) Regional Tournament, December/2018. (The team scored a perfect score in the Research Project component.) As such, they advanced to the Super Regional. Freebots again won the First Place overall Champions Award and the Robot Game Award for having the highest score in the robot game. With this win, the team has advanced to the State Competition. The judges were fascinated with the technical aspect of the team's research and the children's ability to articulate their findings.
